*Vintage* Vanilla Cream Bridal Cape Shrug in Faux Fur with Vintage Gold Brooch
For those hard-to-match wedding gowns, this bridal shrug cape adds its own enchanting hue. Call it vanilla cream or golden champagne, it simply dazzles with the style of a shrug but ease of a cape. No worries about trying to match white, ivory, or off white, this number looks fabulous over anything! Cozy & retro for a warm wedding even in the winter months. It even includes a designer brooch by vintage jewelry maker Trifari. A cluster of gold leaves, faux pearls and sparkling rhinestones add an Old Hollywood touch. (The Queen loves pins, too...).
* Material: Vanilla cream golden faux fur capelet with satin lining; material is a bit stiff or coarse, which lends a formality & structure true to the era
* Age: 1960s estimated; no tags
* Condition: Excellent vintage condition
* Measurements: 21" collar-hem, 40" laid flat end to end
The cape has sort of an interesting fit. It's just one piece of fabric that is sewn under each arm to create "sleeves." I believe this was handmade long ago (no tags) & the maker wanted to achieve a drapey effect with long, bell sleeves & a swingy look. (No jumping jacks for the bride, please. This is a stately fit meant to create low, graceful movements while wearing it, I believe.)
Fits about a size medium, possibly also a small or a large with its open front. It depends how you want it to fit. (Model is an XS and only 5 feet tall. Shrug definitely feels too big on her.) An authentic vintage touch for vintage-inspired weddings & photos. **Photos in which cape appears darkers, more of a golden vanilla yellow, are most true to color.
