What woman doesn’t love a grand pair of shoes? But… the thought of spending hundreds of dollars on a big-name designer pair usually gives me a slight pain in my side. The exceptions for me are either a) you are wearing a mini-dress wedding gown (Hey, good for you! Now, get a rockin’ pair of heels to go along with…) or b) you’ve found a pair of bridal shoes you really & truly can and will wear again. (Hint: If they’re white, you’re already a real iffy bet in the b) category.) That’s why pretty bridal shoes that don’t cost a fortune always deserve a second look by me.
These towering beauties were a recent etsy find. For the girl who likes the idea of strutting down the aisle in a 4 1/2″ heel with a hidden platform… voila! These are for you. Faux suede bridal pumps, some with a peep toe, receive back-end embellishments with feathers or lace surrounding the heel. Just $55-$65 per pair by LaPlumeEthere. (See her feather bridal fascinators & boutonnieres, too…) Okay, you may need a back up for those hours on the dance floor, but for the aisle walk and photos, these make a colorful statement indeed.

A shiny red Vespa LX 150 Scooter. Just enough rev to get up those back road hills, not so much machine that it feels more motorcycle than scooter. This is definitely scoot material.
It’s the original, the classic, the Italian dreammobile for romantics who envision a lifetime of riding off into the sunset.
With financing offers & a holiday sale, apparently this little getaway ride can be under that tree for less than 90 a month. (Don’t tempt me!) See, you could buy one now & use it later as your escape from the reception…
It makes sense that they have these sales when it’s a bit too cold to get out and use it in most parts of the country. But this weather isn’t here to stay, and the Vespa brand is. Oh, Santa, be kind, won’t you?
As an alternative, the slaps shop on etsy offers this Vespa scooter wall decal which will cheer you on as you save your pennies for the real thing.

It’s hard not to blog about things to buy this time of year. Why does December seem to light a fire to shop deep within us?
Well, nothing’s wrong with window shopping right? (I’m not sure what the online version of that is called, by the way. Maybe just “window shopping,” since I seem to always have a dozen windows open at a time with beautiful things I can imagine surrounding me…)
This blue Night Night pillow by SewEnglishis so sweet & wintry. The icy blues on nubby cream fabric remind me of construction paper snowflakes dangling from the ceiling in some Ohio grade school classroom waaaaay back when. They would blow when a heat current hit them. Or someone hit them with a pencil.
A full 14 ” square, the Night Night makes a nice little pillow centerpiece on the bed. Or, in our case, surrounded by a bunch of others. Blue Night Night pillow, $50.
SewEnglish also stitches a Mr. & Mrs. pillow. Cute! But the White Felt Flower pillowreally gives me the warm fuzzies.

What’s organic & fair trade & good for you & a little romantic to boot?
This adorable, stackable tin of four tea varieties from Zhena’s Gypsy Tea. Having been lured in by the packaging for quite some time, I decided to finally place an order yesterday to start filling some stockings a litte bit early.
The site is filled with rave reviews from tea sippers everywhere who, from the sounds if it, cannot get through the day without one of these Gypsy Teas. I began to wonder what Zhena puts in them!
Actually, she tells you in this aromatherapy tea chart. Completely fascinating.
This Romance Tea Sampler contains four romantic flavors with four sachets each, all in a recycleable tin; $8.99. These teas have properties known to calm, soothe, balance or awaken the senses. Mmmmmm!
As soon as it arrives (I have ordered some of their other tempting varities as well; in this season the Sense of Peace tea tugged at me from all sides), I will have the honor of writing a guest post tea review for my new friend Tairalyn over at Lah Tea Dah blog. She is a TRUE tea lover—just read her blog & you will see. She was sweet enough to include our vintage tea stands in a post about her love of vintage china & I was flattered all over the place reading it.
If you love tea & Alice in Wonderland, you MUST see her Un-Birthday party photos. (It is filled with beautiful wedding ideas if you look…)
